Instructions for creating entries
on the "Topic is Tango" weblog

First, go to the editing interface for the Topic is Tango weblog.

Once you are there you can create new entries, edit existing entries, and upload files.

Creating New Entries

To create a new entry, click "New Entry" in the left sidebar. A form will appear where you can type or paste your text.

1. Type in a title
2. Select a category
3. Type or paste your poem or other text in the "Entry Body" box.
4. When you have finished inserting text, scroll down and click "Save".

You can then click "View Site" at the top of the page to see your post.

You can keep editing it until it looks the way you want. Just remember to Save your changes.

Adding Images to an Entry

To include a picture in your entry, the first thing you need to do is upload the file to the web. After that you need to link the image file into your entry.

Uploading the Image

1. Click "Upload File" in the left sidebar. The "Upload" dialog box will appear.
   
2. Click "Choose File" and then browse to find the file on your computer. When you find the file, select it and click "OK".
3. For "Upload Into:" select <Local Archive Path>/ and type in the word images.
   
   
4. Click "Upload". Your file will be uploaded, and you get a confirmation dialog box asking your how to link the file.
5. Choose the following settings:
   • Show me the HTML
   • Create a thumbnail for this image
   • Choose width of 300 pixels or less (230 is a good size). Let the Height be determined automatically.
     Make sure you leave "Constrain proportions" checked so that the height can be calculated based on the width.
     
     
     
     
6. Click "Popup Image". The code for the image link will be displayed in a new dialog box window.
   
   

Select the code and copy it to your clipboard (Choose Edit > Copy in your browser's menu bar.) Once you have copied the text you can close the window.

Linking the image into your entry

You have just uploaded the image file, and you have copied the code for linking it into your blog entry.

Now go back to the editing interface for your entries and insert the link code there.

1. Click once in the Entry Body text box to position your insertion point where you want the image to appear.
2. Paste the code for the image link.
3. Save your entry.

Click View Site again (or refresh the page in your browser) to see your edited Topic is Tango entry. This time the image should be included.
