Class Repeat Policy
In order to encourage review and practice, dancers enrolled in upper-level classes are entitled to repeat any concurrent lower-level class at no extra charge.
Sometimes we may need to close classes to repeaters of one sex if we have a significant gender imbalance.
Repeating Quick Start
We highly recommend that beginning dancers repeat T1 Quick Start one or two times to solidify fundamental concepts. We vary the movement vocabulary each time through so it won’t be boring. The Quick Start class is only $10 to repeat.
Tango is not the kind of dance that you master in six weeks. You learn the basic structure and techniques of the dance, and then you improve on it for the rest of your life.
Levels
We currently have four designations of “levels” in our classes:
- Beginner
- Advanced Beginner
- Intermediate
- Advanced Intermediate
We offer several classes in each level. Once you complete one class in a level, you are entitled to take a class in the next level. But we recommend that you also take more than one course in each level.
Please do not ask to skip levels. You cannot learn tango faster by omitting things you need to learn.
If you want to learn more and learn faster, practice. Stay after class to practice. Go to practica on Sundays. Practice on your own at home. Go to the dances and watch. Ask somebody to dance with you. If you want advice in how to practice, ask Joe and Carlota.
Another way to accelerate is to take private lessons. Ask us about them if you are interested.
