FLAMENCO GUITAR MASTER CLASS
CU-Tango is pleased to offer guitar lessons with visiting artist Amine Kesseiri.
Class size limited.
Requirements:
- You will need some experience with guitar, but it is not necessary to read music or know scales.
- You need a Spanish or classical guitar (nylon strings).
You will learn how to play and practice the technique for the right hand such as rasgueado, thumb technique, golpe technique (taps).
You will also learn the bascis of some flamenco song forms such as Tangos, Alegrias, Bulerias, Soleas.
Cost: $45 for three one-hour sessions.

About The Teacher
Amine Kesseiri is a visiting artist specializing in flamenco, classical, and ethnic guitar from the Mediterranean. A native of Oran, Algeria, he is a professor of music at the conservatory of Oran, Algeria and at the Institut Regional de Formation Musicale. His band “Update” performs world music throughout Algeria. Amine recordings feature of original “Algerian fusion” blending Arabic music with rhumba, jazz, and flamenco. He will be teaching in Champaign during January and February 2012.
Private Lessons
Amine is also available for one-on-one lessons. He teaches guitar of various styles, including flamenco, classical, and ethnic guitar from the Mediterranean.
