Julio Sosa sings "Nunca tuvo Novio"
YouTube - Julio Sosa: Nunca tuvo novio - Quien hubiera dicho
Let me understand this - one of the most masculine of all tango singers interprets "Nunca tuvo novio" (never had a wife), while three male alto singers croon backup in harmony - what is that about? I know it's the 60s. Is this Argentine "camp"? I also like the way they all adjust their pant leg when they sit down on those stools. And how does Julio Sosa get behind the bar at the end of this song, leaving the poor castratos on their own with their whiskey glasses.
Nevertheless, Julio Sosa is the man. (And so are Angel Vargas and Carlos Gardel in their own epochs.)
